The Vichy Thermalia Spa in Moulay Yacoub, Morocco has opened its doors, offering 4,000sq m of spa space and 50 treatment rooms.
Located next to the town’s historic hot thermal springs, the spa has a large thermal pool with water sourced from 1,500m underground, plus a pool and relaxation area reserved exclusively for women. The thermal waters are believed to be beneficial for rheumatology and joint pain.
The thermal baths include 33 individual cabins with baths, jet showers, vichy showers, underwater showers, and thoracic and lumbar therapy areas all taking advantage of the sulphurous waters.
Part of a new 100-bedroom hotel, designed by architect Omar Alaoui, the health spa facility was completely remodelled in a project estimated to have cost US$30m. It will offer treatments from Vichy Laboratories Dermo Cosmetic Skincare and SkinCeuticals, as well as Moroccan luxury brand marocMaroc.
There will be a selection of themed residential packages on offer including thermalism, weight loss, functional re-education and Lifestyle Coaching.
