French skincare brand Caudalie has launched its first range designed specifically for issues affecting oily and combination skin such as shine, blemishes and clogged pores.
Enriched with a cocktail of grape polyphenols, natural essential oils and natural salicylic acid, the range includes a Clear Skin Purifying Toner, a highly concentrated, 100 per cent natural Salicylic Acid Serum and Skin Perfecting Mattifying Fluid, which contains silica powders to mattify skin and organic rose water to regulate shine. There is also an accompanying facial.
Caudalie co-founder, Mathilde Thomas, says: “Our skin has never been subject to such harsh conditions; pollution, stress, hormonal changes and unsuitable cosmetics all contribute to an unsettled and reactive epidermis. Long after their teenage years, women with combination to oily skin notice blemishes, shine and clogged pores, the signs of an imbalanced complexion. It is estimated that 70 per cent experience this in adulthood (25 years and over) and up to 87 per cent are affected by the problem in their day-to-day life.

Caudalie’s laboratory has developed a new patent for the range, based on a combination of grape polyphenols and six purifying organic essential oils (lavender, lemongrass, geranium, rosemary, lemon balm and peppermint). These active ingredients work simultaneously to form an effective barrier against the production of the P. acne bacteria, responsible for blemishes, and stops the oxidation of sebum, the main cause of pore inflammation and complexion dullness.
