Ye Olde Bell launches new spa therapies for cancer sufferers

Ye Olde Bell Spa in Barnaby Moor is launching a series of new therapies specifically aimed at those who have cancer, or who are undergoing treatment, in remission or affected by other serious health conditions.

The spa is working with a new range of wellness therapies from Germaine de Capuccini. Each treatment has been designed to soothe the guest’s senses with light touch massage and facials, known to have a positive effect on the mind, body and soul.

The multi-million pound spa, which opened last June, is one of the first to launch this range of therapies. It offers 10 different spa experiences, which include the Sabbia Med (sunlight therapy) area offering light, heat with sand and music to invoke a sense of wellness. The Salt Inhalation Room, which aids respiratory problems, sinuses and allergies, will also be on offer, as well as a further six thermal experiences.

Products have been carefully selected to target the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and other strong medications by helping to calm stressed or aggravated skin and replenish missing nutrients.

Treatments include a 60-minute Rose & Honey facial and the Phyto-care Baobab Body ritual, a gentle exfoliation, massage and scalp therapy.

Historically patients undergoing treatment have been unable to easily access spa thermal areas and treatments due to limited understanding about client’s conditions, the impact of therapies and products on such clients and lack of training for therapists.
