Ye Olde Bell Spa

Ye Olde Bell Spa

New multi-million pound spa at Ye Olde Bell country hotel in Barnby Moor opens its doors to the public.

Featuring 10 spa experiences, a vitality pool, outdoor relaxation areas with alpine lodges, a Herb Garden Brasserie and an extensive range of treatments, Ye Olde Bell’s new spa combines glamour with indulgence and luxury with fun.

Unique to the spa, a dedicated team of spa butlers are on hand to cater for guest’s every need and to advise on the experiences on offer.

Heat experiences available in the thermal area include a Herbal Laconium, using steam infused with herbs from the herb garden, and a Stonebath – one of only three in the UK – which features a heated oven and cold water cauldron, creating a theatrical outpouring of hydrating steam when the mineral stones are lifted from the oven into the cold water.

Guests can be transported to the mountains of Europe in the custom-made snowstorm experience; the first of its kind in the world. With options ranging from a gentle flurry to a powerful snowstorm, the experience is amplified by the effects of lightning and gusts of wind.

At the other end of the weather spectrum, guests can opt to be transported to the French Rivera in the Sabbia Med (sunlight therapy), where the vista of St Tropez is painted on the walls and warm sand covers the floor. The treatment recreates the benefits of the sun without the harmful rays and encourages the release of vitamin D, which can help alleviate SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).

Ye Olde Bell is a 59-room country hotel dating back to the 17th Century, located on the corners of Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. The spa has been designed in conjunction with Spa Vision by Spa Directors, Sadie Ardron-Levack and Lizzie Bath. The interior has been created by Hilary Levack and designer Tonia Wynne of Homestead Interiors.

The menu of treatments using Germaine de Cappucini products features facials, massages, wraps, exfoliation, anti-ageing and manicures and pedicures.

Spa Director Sadie Ardron-Levack says: ‘We spent a lot of time trying to ensure the finish on the spa matches the experiences we offer and now we are ready with our team of fabulous, friendly and attentive staff to welcome guests to share our facility and experience our vision of how spa-ing should be.’
